Make Your Own Hand Cleansing Spray!

We all know by now that hand sanitisers don’t work well if our hands are already dirty. So what do you do when you’re out and about and there’s not a sink in sight?

Well, we’ve been using and sharing a homemade cleansing spray recipe for years with friends, families and customers. We called it a ‘baby’ cleansing spray but it’s perfect for use on dirty hands both little and large with the added benefit that every ingredient is as biodegradable and food-safe as possible. Keep one alongside your hand sanitiser and use it before sanitising - it’ll ensure it works more effectively!

Hand Cleansing Spray Recipe:

Ingredients:

1/2 tbsp of Four Cow Farm Baby Wash (or any Four Cow Farm wash)
1/2 tbsp Four Cow Farm Baby Oil
1 cup of cooled, boiled water

Instructions:

  1. Mix 1/2 tbsp of Four Cow Farm Baby Wash and 1/2 tbsp of Four Cow Farm Baby Oil into 1 cup of cooled, boiled water and stir gently
  2. Pour into a clean spray bottle
  3. Apply liberally on the area to be cleaned and wipe thoroughly with a clean cloth / tissue.

Note: Increase the amounts of Wash or Oil slightly if a greater cleansing or moisturising effect is needed. Please do not use normal washes as a replacement as most are too harsh to be left on the skin, even in trace amounts!

Keep for up to 1 month and make up a fresh bottle as needed. We’ve used it not just on dirty hands but also chocolate covered cheeks and stinky bottoms :) It does the job beautifully without adding to the earth’s chemical or energy load. Give it a go!
